NewsThe Government Medical Officers' Association (GMOA) will initiate trade union action throughout the Northern province tomorrow as part of its island-wide campaign to create awareness over the SAITM controversy. Issuing a media release, the GMOA stated that tomorrow's trade union action is the seventh in a series of token strikes launched at provincial level over the campaign. Accordingly, doctors in the Northern province would engage in a strike from 8.00am to 12,00 noon tomorrow. However, emergency services would function as normal during the period of the token strike. A large number of protests, seminars and rallies would be held throughout the province during the period of the strike to raise awareness regarding the SAITM issue, the release added.
