Cameroon were stripped of the rights after they were adjudged to be unprepared for the tourney. In a statement on Saturday, CAF announced that Egypt, who last hosted in 2006, and South Africa, who last hosted in 2013, had submitted bids on deadline day of 14 December to host the tournament. International consulting firm Roland Berger is expected to review the bids and seek additional materials and conduct inspection visits where required. The hosts will be announced on January 9, 2019, according to CAF.
