Good morning: Pandemic? The S&P 500 closed at a record high last night as investors bet that the US Federal Reserve would continue to hose the world’s largest economy with cash and as technology shares continued to soar. The S&P 500 rose by 7.79 points, or 0.2 per cent, to finish at 3,389.78, surpassing the previous record of 3,386.15 hit in February before the coronavirus crisis. The index is 4.9 per cent higher since the start of the year and up 3.8 per cent this month (the FTSE 100 index is trading 19.4 per cent lower over the year).
