Ryerson students blow away Guinness record

Ryerson University students unofficially broke the Guinness World Record for the most people blowing bubbles from chewing gum simultaneously Wednesday, as part of orientation. “Today we smashed that record,” said Lauren Clegg, media representative of Ryerson University. At around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, 1,203 people simultaneously blew bubble-gum for Ryerson University’s ‘O-week’ world-record-breaking tradition said Clegg. The record for the most people chewing gum at the same time was last broken on Sept. 27, 2014 in Spain with 737 participants. Ryerson has a tradition of attempting to break world records every September, making this year the 10th annual attempt said Clegg.
