Fulham's Serbian manager Slavisa Jokanovic did his bit for young English players by throwing 18-year-old Ryan Sessegnon in the deep end at The Etihad Stadium, saying the experience will be a 'huge benefit' to the teenager's development. But Jokanovic had no regrets about the selection which followed England manager Gareth Southgate's complaints not enough homegrown players were involved in Premier League games. Sessegnon turned 18 in May and is 10 days older than City's own prospect Phil Foden, who was an unused substitute. The Fulham defender has long attracted interest from Spurs but chose to stay at Craven Cottage after they won promotion to the Premier League last season.
