Ruto's office on spot for defaulting on parking fee : The Standard

Ruto's office on spot for defaulting on parking feeAs Nairobi county struggles to realise its car parking revenue projections since 2013, the office of the deputy president William Ruto is the topmost government department that has failed to honour its parking fee debts. With a budget allocation of Sh880 million, the DP’s office has failed to settle its parking bills for more than five years. According to a local business publication, documents reveal that the DP’s office has arrears of Sh189.08 million for 113 parking slots on Harambee Avenue and Sh14.06 for ten parking spaces along the Parliament Lane. Some like Parliament and Kenya Revenue Authority used to pay a while back but they are not doing that now,” Mr Tinega said. During the 2017/2018 financial year, Nairobi collected a jaw-dropping Sh1.8 billion, which was far below the Sh2.05 billion collected during the 2016 financial year.
