Cleophas Malala, the Secretary-General of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA), has come forward to support President William Ruto's choice to permit his advisors to participate in Cabinet meetings, even though they are not officially Cabinet members. During an interview with Spice FM on Wednesday, July 5, Malala argued that Ruto has the authority to include his advisors in Cabinet meetings if it benefits the well-being of the public. “I want to make one thing clear, the president has not added an extra ministry. A day after lawyer Charles Mugane filed a petition to reverse the decision allowing Cleophas Malala, David Ndii, Monica Juma, and Harriette Chiggai to attend Cabinet meetings, Malala expressed appreciation for the legal challenge. On June 27, Malala, Ndii, Juma, and Chiggai, all presidential advisors, attended their first Cabinet meeting at State House in Nairobi.
