Kenya’s outspoken political analyst Mutahi Ngunyi took a swipe at the Deputy President William Ruto claiming that he will not become the next president of Kenya. He, however, singled out the deputy president from the list stating that despite lacking certainty on who will succeed Uhuru, Ruto does not stand the chance of becoming president. He further dismissed the new entrants into the presidential race, the likes of Mukhisa Kituyi and Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka, stating that they could not succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta. This is not the first time Mutahi has criticised Ruto’s ambitions to become president; Mutahi has also claimed that it was him who helped him (the DP) become who is in politics.
