President William RuoPresident William Ruto has affirmed that his administration has not been watching helplessly as Kenyans go through tough economic times. In his State of the Nation Address, Ruto said his administration has been putting in place measures to lessen the economic burden facing Kenyans. “We have not been watching helplessly and doing nothing as adversity took a toll on the economy and undermined the livelihood and well-being of the people,” he stated. The cost of living was too high and the cost of basic commodities way beyond the reach of many Kenyans,” he stated. “It is undeniable that for many Kenyans, times are hard and the struggle to meet their basic needs remains daunting.
