No election by any meansKisumu Senator Fred Outa and former Deputy Governor Ruth Odinga were on Monday, October 24, charged with five counts of offences, including stealing plastic chairs. The duo denied the charges before Kisumu chief magistrate Julius Ng’arng’ar and were released on a bond of Sh500,000 each. They are accused, jointly with others not before the court, of stealing 94 plastic chairs and 11 tents valued at Sh92,500. The two were also charged with entering an electoral area designated by IEBC without authority, contrary to section 13(h) of the Election Offences Act. A similar incident had happened in Awasi the previous day where angry residents attacked electoral officials training venue.
