Overnight Russian drone strikes on the southeastern Ukrainian city of Zaporizhzhia wounded five people, including a child, authorities said on Tuesday (February 24, 2026). The Ukrainian State Emergency Service (DSNS) said the attacks, which occurred late on Monday (February 23), targeted multiple sites across the regional centre. "Five people, including one child, were injured as a result of the attacks," the DSNS said. Zaporizhzhia, a major city near the southern frontline, faces near-daily Russian drone and missile attacks as Moscow continues to target urban areas and industrial facilities across Ukraine. The drone attacks come on the heels of Russian strikes that killed three people in Zaporizhzhia and Odesa on Monday (February 23).
