Two members of the airline’s public council told a press conference in Moscow that passengers preferred slim, attractive flight attendants and that crews should make efforts to comply. Aeroflot had previously pledged not to discriminate on the basis of age, sex or appearance when choosing staff. The airline won two recent court cases brought by attendants who complained that they had been taken off long-haul flights and moved to lower-paid or night-time routes because of their appearance.
