(Reuters)CAIRO – 9 July 2020: The Foreign Ministers of Russia, Egypt, South Africa and DR Congo on Thursday reviewed measures to boost industrial cooperation between Russia and Africa, to ensure that African exports arrive to Russian markets, a joint statement read. According to the statement issued after the first annual political consultation meeting between the ministers online on June 8, Egypt’s Sameh Shoukry, Russia’s Sergey Lavrov, Congo’s Marie Tumba Nzeza and South Africa’s Naledi Pandor discussed strengthening economic relations between African and Russian companies. The ministers urged close cooperation between the Secretariat of the Russia-Africa Partnership Forum and the foreign ministries of African countries as well as the secretariats of Africa’s integration associations, the statement read. Concerning the novel coronavirus, the ministers expressed “serious concern” about the continued worldwide spread of the virus infection.
