Russia will invade Ukraine despite western threats of sanctions, President Biden predicted last night, admitting that Nato was divided on how to react. Biden also warned that conflict could escalate in the region, and reiterated that Russia would pay a high price. The US president spoke out as Russia accused Britain of “fuelling the crisis” by sending lethal weapons to Ukraine. Sponsored“I’m not so sure that he [Putin] is certain what is he going to do,” Biden told a White House press conference. He has to do something.”A Ukrainian defence intelligence assessment pointed to 127,000 Russian troops near the border poised to invade and sources have said the Russians were still “massing reserves”.
