MOSCOW—Russian President Vladimir Putin said his country would suspend its obligations under a Cold War-era nuclear treaty that the U.S. says it plans to withdraw from. In a televised meeting with his defense and foreign ministers Saturday, Mr. Putin said Russia would respond in kind to Friday’s U.S. announcement by suspending its involvement in the Intermediate-range Nuclear Forces Treaty, accusing the U.S. of being in breach of the pact. He also ordered the officials not to initiate any talks on disarmament.
