D’Angelo Russell will not make his Minnesota Timberwolves debut on Saturday night against the Los Angeles Clippers due to a bruised right quad. The 23-year-old point guard was obtained Thursday in a trade that sent forward Andrew Wiggins to the Golden State Warriors. An All-Star with the Brooklyn Nets in 2018-19, Russell averaged a career-high 23.6 points in 33 games this season with the Warriors. Russell missed nine games with a sprained thumb form Nov. 17-Dec. 2, and missed six games because of a shoulder issue from Dec. 31-Jan. 10. His next opportunity to take the court for the Timberwolves will be Monday night in Toronto.
