Craig Minogue, now 56, was convicted for the 1986 bombing of the Russell Street Police Headquarters in Melbourne and was sentenced to life in prison with a non-parole period of 30 years. Minogue was jailed for life in 1988, with a non-parole period of 28 years, for murdering policewoman Angela Taylor in the deadly car blast. The Age obtained recordings of Minogue saying he has 'done more than anyone in the history of Australia to rehabilitate myself'. He denies his bid for deportation is a stunt, tweeting on October 19: 'I hope Peter Dutton relieves me of the burden of Australian Citizenship'. Peter Dutton is considering my application to renounce Aust.
