Mumbai: The Indian rupee was trading little changed against the US dollar ahead of the macroeconomic data due later on Friday. The dollar index, which measures the US currency’s strength against major currencies, was trading at 95.916, up 0.06% from its previous close of 95.857. The government will issue consumer price inflation (CPI) data for July and Index of Industrial Production (IIP) data for June on 12 August after 5.30pm. The rupee opened at 66.84 a dollar.
