Photo: AFPMumbai: The rupee strengthened against the US dollar ahead of the key macroeconomic data due later on Monday. At 9.15am, the rupee was trading at 63.96 a dollar, up 0.27% from its Friday’s close of 64.14. The government will issue wholesale price index (WPI) inflation and consumer price index (CPI) inflation data for July due later 12pm and 5.30pm, respectively. The 10-year bond yield was at 6.497%, compared to its previous close of 6.507%. The dollar index, which measures the US currency’s strength against major currencies, was trading at 93.085, up 0.02% from its previous close of 93.069.
