Share:ISLAMABAD - The exchange rate of Pakistani rupee strengthened by Rs 1.10 against the US dollar in the interbank trading on Monday and closed at Rs 161.22 as compared to the previous day’s closing of Rs 162.32. According to Forex Association of Pakistan (FAP), the buying and selling rates of dollar in the open market were recorded at Rs 161 and Rs 162 respectively. Similarly, the price of euro depreciated by Rs 1.34 and closed at Rs 189.87 against the last day’s trading of Rs 191.21, the State Bank of Pakistan reported. The Japanese Yen remained unchanged to close at Rs1.46, whereas a decline of 96 paisas was witnessed in the exchange rate of British Pound, which was traded at Rs 221.94 as compared to its last closing of Rs 222.90. The exchange rates of Emirates Dirham and Saudi Riyal decreased by 30 paisas each to close at Rs 43.89 and Rs 42.98 respectively.
