NEW DELHI: The rupee opened 13 paise higher at 68.05 against dollar on Monday on account of selling in American currency by banks and exporters. Meanwhile, the domestic equity market opened on a flat note following mixed global cues. The local currency declined 5 paise against dollar to close at an over one-week low of 68.18 on Friday. According to ICICIDirect.com, “The rupee ended lower on Friday as markets participants remain wary ahead of the new US President’s inauguration speech. Foreign institutional investors bought shares worth Rs 473.62 crore on Friday with gross purchases and gross sales of Rs 4,326.37 crore and Rs 3,852.75 crore, respectively.
