Photo: Pradeep Gaur/MintMumbai: The Indian rupee on Monday strengthened for the fourth consecutive session against the US dollar, after local equity markets gained for the sixth consecutive session. In the last six trading sessions, the index gained 3.2% and so far this year, Sensex is up 4.45%. The dollar index, which measures the US currency’s strength against major currencies, was trading at 95.719, up 0.07% from its previous close of 95.649. The Indian rupee strengthened for the fourth consecutive session against the US dollar, after local equity markets gained for the sixth consecutive sessionIndia’s 10-year bond yield closed at 7.425%, compared with Friday’s close of 7.419%. The local currency opened at 67.22 and touched a high of 67.15 a dollar, a level last seen on 17 June.
