Gagnon spent 43 days in Boston Children's Hospital receiving treatment before being declared in remission. Powers, who is flight attendant for American Airlines, says she started running marathons five years ago and has set a goal of running in 50 marathons, one in each state, by the age of 50 and has already completed 13 marathons in 13 different states.
