At least 50 people have been injured on Thursday after clashes between police and the employees of Chaity Composite Limited in the Topordi area of the Sonargaon upazila of Narayanganj. Based on a rumour that a female garment worker has been killed in the bathroom, garment workers boycotted work and took to the streets. In this incident, about 50 people, including a police superintendent of Narayanganj, seven policemen, three journalists and workers were injured. The administration then took an ill Rina Akhter to a nearby hospital, said Chaity Composite DGM (administration) Mizanur Rahman. Later, police spoke to Rina Akhter at the hospital and brought an end to the false accusation.
