Rumor: Motherboard Maker ASRock To Produce AMD-Based Mining GPUs

We've seen existing AIBs (add-in board partners) like MSI and ASUS expand their offerings and cater to cryptocurrency miners with headless graphics cards -- GPUs that lack a display output and are optimized for mining. And we've seen companies like Biostar and Gigabyte offer mining-specific motherboards. AsRockDigiTimes is reporting that Taipei-based motherboard manufacturer ASRock is planning to introduce another segment of products into their lineup of motherboards, PCs and Workstations. According to market watchers speaking to Digitimes, ASRock will crash the graphics cards party as early as April. While Radeon cards typically aren't as energy efficient, they do excel at mining popular coins like Ethereum (although the lifespan for mining Ethereum on standard GPUs may end by next year).
