An Auckland premier rugby player accused of raping a woman while she slept took to the witness box in court today. The alleged victim went to a room to sleep. In his closing argument, English said both Sefo and the alleged victim were drunk. Today Sefo told the court he had been drinking at the clubrooms in the evening - at the same time as the alleged victim, but the pair had not spoken. He told the court he had not interacted with the alleged victim at all before April 18 and 19, and that he was drunk on the night of the alleged rape.
