Rugby league coach allegedly assaults under-13s player during Auckland game

Police are investigating after a rugby league coach allegedly assaulted a player during an under-13s game in Auckland. The incident happened on Saturday at the Bay Roskill sports club fields in Blockhouse Bay, during a match between the Bay Roskill Under 13s and the Papakura Under 13 Duckrockers. Papakura Sea Eagles club chairman Alwyn Peters said he was told the coach of the Bay Roskill side had assaulted one of the young players. Bay Roskill Vikings secretary Tania Brown offered no comment on the allegations, saying an official process needed to be worked through.
