Picture by UB photos Guwahati, Jan. 22: The Assam government will award Rs 5 lakh to a village panchayat that can achieve 100 per cent cashless transactions by March 31. He said the award is a part of his government's ambitious plan to usher in an era of cashless transactions through grassroots programmes. "Assam is marching ahead of many other states in creating awareness among masses about the importance of cashless and digital transactions. Free Wi-Fi has been provided at the fair venue here to enable visitors to download and install mobile apps for digital transactions.
