KUCHING: Prince Charles, the Prince of Wales, and his wife Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, received a traditional welcome at the Sarawak Cultural Village (SCV), the first stop of their visit to Sarawak here on Monday. SCV performers in traditional dress put on a welcoming dance at the entrance, accompanied by traditional musicians. The royal couple then stopped by the Penan hut, where Prince Charles tried his hand at shooting a blowpipe, and later visited the Melanau house to watch a bamboo dance. Prince Charles later visited the Semenggoh Nature Reserve and Sarawak Biodiversity Centre, while Camilla met representatives of women's empowerment NGO Purple Lily at the Old Courthouse. The visit to Sarawak is part of the royal couple's seven-day visit to Malaysia.
