The Royal New Zealand Air Force (RNZAF) plans to drop a series of bombs over Kaipara Air Weapons Range in the city's northwest on Monday. The Defence Force apologised saying it was the first time in 18 years of testing that they had noise complaints. "Normally the sound is confined to a 10-15km radius," the New Zealand Defence Force said in a statement issued at the time. Aucklanders might hear hear loud bangs and have their tea cups rattle as the Air Force drops bombs in the north of the city in a training exercise.
