Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern has announced a Royal Commission of Inquiry into the country's security agencies after the Christchurch terror attacks. On Monday she announced a Royal Commission of Inquiry, which is typically reserved for "matters of the gravest public importance" and was clearly the appropriate form of inquiry in this instance, she said. The key agencies taking part in the inquiry would include the New Zealand SIS, GCSB, NZ Police, Customs, Immigration and any other relevant Government agencies or departments. Last week, Justice Minister Andrew Little also said an initial inquiry could be followed by a Royal Commission of inquiry and today Opposition leader Simon Bridges called on Government to launch a Royal Commission of Inquiry. There was a general conversation around the additional work that needed to be done.
