A Royal Bengal Tiger has been beaten to death by villagers at Gulichakhali village under Morelganj upazila of Bagerhat district. Md Mahmudul Hasan, East Sundarbans divisional forest officer (DFO), said the tiger entered the village crossing the Bhola river and attacked local farmer Masud, 30, while he was working at his paddy field around 7am on Tuesday. Hearing his scream, locals rushed in and beat up the tiger, leaving it dead. At least six people were injured while saving Masud from the grip of the tiger. On information, a team of forest officials recovered the body.
