Ahamed’s family to the trauma care unit of the Ram Manohar Lohia (RML) Hospital where he was admitted after he collapsed on the floor of Parliament on Tuesday and the Narendra Modi government’s decision to go ahead with budget presentation barely hours after the senior parliamentarians demise was confirmed have triggered a major row in the State. It should be remembered that Ahamed had collapsed in the very same Parliament house where the budget was presented. Senior Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) leaders also came down heavily on the denial of access to Ahamed’s family members to the trauma care unit of the hospital. Kunhalikkutty said the denial of access to the family was ‘inhuman.’That the hospital authorities kept the news of his death under wraps was most unfortunate and would be taken up with the Central government in the coming days, they said. Veerendrakumar also came out against the RML Hospital authorities over the issue.
