CAIRO, Jan. 10 (Xinhua) -- More than 300 plastics industry firms from over 20 countries gathered in the Egyptian capital Cairo to showcase their raw materials, machinery, and semi-finished products in Egypt's 18th International Plastics Exhibition (PLASTEX). The four-day expo, started on Sunday, is an important exhibition for the plastics industry in the Middle East and North African (MENA) region. Held at the International Exhibition Center in Cairo, the fair is expected to attract some 22,000 professionals seeking business opportunities. "The fair helps us demonstrate our products, explore new business opportunities, and examine key developments in the region," he added. "The exhibition helps me find new technologies and the most cutting-edge machinery used in the plastics industry," Mohammed al-Hady, owner of a small-scale plastics workshop in Cairo, told Xinhua.
