An apologetic Charleston Hughes met with the media Wednesday to discuss his impaired-driving charge. The officers had suspicions of alcohol intoxication, and Hughes was transported to RPS headquarters where he was charged with impaired driving and failure to provide a breath sample for analysis. Hughes was released from custody and given a notice to appear in Regina Provincial Court on Oct. 31. The Roughriders have yet to announce whether he will play Saturday in Calgary against his former team, the Stampeders. We take this offence really seriously.”Jones added that the Roughriders are gathering more information about the situation — one on which the league has yet to comment.
