As evident, both Hood and Kanter have made a significant difference in Portland, as they're huge components in the Blazers's playoff success. Adding Turner and Leonard to that list would be problematic, as that money is locked in as dead cap space. Their overall cap situation isn't much prettier, with $126 million already dedicated for next year, on a cap number of an estimated $109 million. Should the Blazers fail at retaining one or several of Hood, Kanter, and Curry, there's really only one bullet left in the chamber: The kids. Having said that, it remains unfortunate that the Blazers even find themselves in this situation, where this scenario exists.
