The sentences for the Rotherham eight follow a month-long trial, during which the judge said their victims had been “targeted, sexualised and subjected to degrading and violent acts”. The sentences range from five to 19 years. The men are Sageer Hussain, 31, his brother Basharat Hussain, 40, Mohammed Whied, 32, Ishtiaq Khaliq, 33, Waleed Ali, 34, Asif Ali, 30, Masoued Malik, 32, and Naeem Rafiq, 33. It can now be revealed that Sageer was the fourth brother of the Hussain family to be in a sex gang grooming white teenage girls in the South Yorkshire town as part of a wider network of abuse.
