There’s no understating how valuable Stripling has been to the Blue Jays this season. The Blue Jays and Estrada ultimately agreed to a two-year contract that paid him $11.5 million in 2016 and $14.5 million in 2017. While the Blue Jays might want to avoid a multi-year deal given his age, giving Stripling a qualifying offer should be automatic. He left in free agency and the Blue Jays replaced him by signing Kikuchi to a three-year deal worth $36 million.
