Rosmah, 1MDB apply to strike out Khairuddin's suit - Nation

KUALA LUMPUR: The Prime Minister's wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor and 1Malaysia Development Board (1MDB) have applied to strike out a suit by a former Umno leader who is seeking for the return of jewellery worth US$27.3mil (RM114mil) to 1MDB. Mohd Hafarizam, who was assisted by Yazid Mustaqim Roslan, said 1MDB had filed a similar application on Wednesday. He said High Court deputy registrar K. Pavani had granted a stay to Rosmah and 1MDB pending the disposal of the striking out application. In the statement of claim filed on Aug 16, Khairuddin had named Rosmah, businessman Low Taek Jho and 1MDB as the first, second and third defendants respectively. Khairuddin claimed that between June 2013 and March 2014, Low, who acted through an agent, had purchased jewellery from monies allegedly misappropriated from 1MDB.
