Dunedin’s warm autumn weather gave way to cold, wet conditions yesterday as a cold front coming up from the south delivered more rain to the city in one day than it had received all month, MetService meteorologist Lewis Ferris said. The 12.6mm of rain that fell in the city from 9am to 4pm — when the bulk of it fell — was more than in the previous 10 days of May combined. The rain would be short-lived and was expected to ease early this morning before it returned at the weekend, he said.
