KUALA LUMPUR: A freak thunderstorm on Friday afternoon wreaked havoc across the city, with zinc roofs blown away and trees being uprooted. Kuala Lumpur Fire and Rescue Department director Khiruddin Drahman said in one incident a roof was blown away by strong winds at Flat Sri Pinang in Jalan Ikan Emas. No casualties were reported in the 3.22pm incident. He added that the department had also received several reports of uprooted trees in the city including at Segar Court Apartment, Jalan Manis, where a tree damaged two cars, and another incident at SMK Desa Petaling where a car was damaged.
