Four brand-new Airbus A350-1000 aircraft will be powered by Trent XWB-97 engines thanks to a Total Care servicing contract negotiated by Rolls-Royce and Ethiopian Airlines. According to the deal, Ethiopian Airlines will have predictable costs for the servicing and upkeep of the engines. The agreement was inked while Ethiopian Airlines was present at the Derby, UK, office of Rolls-Royce Civil Aerospace. As the first operator of the A350-900 and the first to put the A350-1000 into service, Ethiopian Airlines has been a pioneer in Africa. Rolls-Royce is eager to offer the Trent XWB-84 and Trent XWB-97 a TotalCare service that maximizes performance.
