Firefighters lent a helping hand to roll a truck back upright after it went off the road near Oamaru this morning. Emergency services were called to the scene in Homestead Rd at Weston about 9.12am after a truck towing a trailer rolled and struck a bridge barrier. Police said the southbound truck braked heavily as it approached a single-lane bridge to avoid a collision with another vehicle, before the trailer jack-knifed and the truck veered off the road. No injuries were reported, and firefighters muscled in to roll the truck back upright by hand. Inquiries are continuing.
