Eleven more bodies of Rohingya have been recovered from Naf river in Shahporir Dwip under Teknaf upazila of Cox’s Bazar district, raising the death toll from the trawler capsize to 23. The bodies were recovered early Tuesday. Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Afruzul Hoque Tutul told the Dhaka Tribune: “Death toll from the trawler capsize has reached 23. “Teknaf police station Office-in-Charge Md Moin Uddin Khan said: “We had rescued 17 people after the trawler carrying Rohingya people capsized near the river’s Gholar Char point Sunday night.”According to United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), nearly 520,000 Rohingya have entered Bangladesh since August 25, fleeing the violence in Myanmar.
