An 84-year-old woman lying in a room at a home for the elderly in Mong Kok had horrifying visitors - rats. Chan had been living in the Longevity Palace home on Waterloo Road for four years. Liu claimed other residents told him Longevity Palace was plagued by rats for over 12 months. In a statement, the society said Longevity Palace had on August 7 admitted they had given wrong medication to Chan and it was conducting a "stringent" investigation. The society slammed the Social Welfare Department for poor enforcement of residential care homes rules.
