Ian Thomas is doing what many others have successfully done — cover an Ian Thomas song. Successful covers include Carlos Santana’s “Hold On” and America’s “Right before Your Eyes.” Thomas’ songs are deeply personal. The unrequited love expressed in “Right before Your Eyes” is his longing for his wife Catherine when he was thousands of miles away from home touring with his Ian Thomas Band. The record is jointly produced by Thomas and Peter Cardinali, president of Alma Records, who once played bass on Thomas’ album The Runner.
