Rock band Brand New has secured their first chart-topper on the all-genre albums tally here in the United States with their latest album Science Fiction. 1 album in the U.S., but Brand New benefits from it being a particularly quiet week during the quietest month of the year for new releases. Just a few days later, a CD featuring the full album was shipped to all who had already pre-ordered that LP. Brand New has now placed four full-lengths onto the Billboard throughout their career, with Science Fiction being their second top 10 effort, and obviously their highest-charting. The band appears to be ready to go out on top, as there has been a lot of talk about Science Fiction being their final release together.
