There should be no question about who won the first live U.S. presidential debate: indeed, it’s so obvious, I don’t even need to say the winner’s name. Sure, maybe my general affection for the candidate compels me to think he or she performed better than he or she actually did. But the primaries are over and, for better or worse, this person is the face of the party. In any case, it’s clear that my preferred candidate absolutely took home the prize for the first presidential debate, regardless of what the polls, talking heads and so-called political experts might say. The debate performance of these two candidates just proved that only one is qualified to occupy the Oval Office.
