Radical free expression is happening in the back blocks of Rangitikei, with the Kiwiburn Festival taking over a usually quiet corner of the countryside. Kiwiburn is New Zealand's regional Burning Man event, a six-day festival that organiser Shelley Watson says runs on collective principles. "The robots are here, we are the robots." A huge wandering man effigy will be burnt on Saturday night, the high point of the festival.
