Yes, we spend the festive season knuckling down to work and preparing to play on Boxing Day when the rest of the country is getting stuck in to Christmas dinner with all the trimmings. When fixtures come out, you always look for your first game of the season, when you'll be playing your local rivals and Boxing Day. Time to remind yourself what 'Sparky' said: Every day is Christmas Day when you're a footballer. If it's a home game on Boxing Day, the surroundings will be familiar; if you're away, you just hope it's not a two-hour coach ride (or more) away.
